THE ICKABOG (J.K. ROWLING)

The country of Cornucopia was happy, content, rich and full of diverse foods, that is until the shadow of the Ickabog fell upon it. Starting with the story of the kidnapping of animals, then the mysterious and weird murder on the marshlands, and two greedy, cunning, and vicious lords using the Ickabog to roll in pools of money. It is up to two best friends, Daisy, and Bert to work together to save Cornucopia.

But is the monster even real? Is it really as tall as two horses, has fiery eyes and other characteristics the people are spreading throughout the land. Or is it just a friendly creature, looking for a pal?

This is a masterclass of J. K. Rowling, her return to form after a disappointing Cursed Child edition. The development of the characters struck me as perfectly executed, and the plot was as thick and mixed as the Harry Potter series.
